Springfield is located in Union County and is bordered by Union, Kenilworth, Westfield, Cranford, Mountainside, Summit, and Millburn. With approximately 15,800 residents, Springfield has an area of 5.193 square miles. Springfield is a desirable town for commuters because of its vast transportation infrastructure offering easy access to Interstate 78 and Route 22. Springfield also offers its residents a jitney service to the Short Hills Train Station which has direct trains to New York Penn Station via the Morris & Essex Lines. New Jersey Monthly Magazine recently ranked Springfield in its top 100 'Best Places to Live'.
